Can't find a web page? Web pages come and go. Whenever I built something that I thought might make other folks' lives easier, I made a drawing or took photos and shared that something on a web page. I had hoped that if I shared information people found useful, they would do what they could to be supportive (dollars would have been helpful, but "attaboys" would have been appreciated). I had three groupings of web pages: software source codes, woodworking, and solar - and all three groups of pages seemed well-visited. I'm obliged to conclude that I failed in my effort to provide useful information because after more than a half-million downloads over a period of ten years, I'd received three "thank you" e-mails and a handful of complaints because I wasn't giving away my Linux project management software. I did the reasonable thing and deleted nearly all of the web pages that play no direct role in informing/educating customers and prospective customers about my current products or ongoing projects. At the request of friends, a few of the pages have been re-installed in a Projects directory, but I see no reason to consider the pages permanent. I had thought to share some of the details of solar device development until it was made clear to me that the sharing would all be in one direction. At that point I removed photographs showing solar panel and fluidyne construction details and several entire web pages. I'll probably produce new pages to illustrate products, but they'll be sales rather than how-to pages.
